Woody Harrelson on the Joe Rogan show
Actor Woody Harrelson spoke of a recent visit to Detroit in gushing terms.
"Detroit's been doing so well lately," he said during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast two weeks ago. "I went there not long ago. It was phenomenal. I was like, 'Wow.' What a fun place, like artists kind of (took) it over... It's pretty groovy."
The subject of Detroit came up when Rogan discussed the mess caused by a broken water main that flooded a neighborhood in Southwest Detroit.
"As if Detroit doesn't have enough fucking problems. Poor Detroit," Rogan said, which prompted Harrelson to talk about the city's upside.
Rogan mentioned the city's pride and referenced Shinola, a company known for producing products in Detroit.
Harrelson said the owner of Shinola was a good friend. "He's one of the great humans on this planet. Shinola is a great company."
He also spoke about Jack White's Third Man Records in Midtown and its production of vinyl records.
